Introduction

A church of interbeing is an open community ritual occurring regularly in relationship to a particular place, to reconnect with our selves, each other, and all life. It serves to deepen the individual and collective wisdom of participants.

Not contained within any faith or religious tradition, church of interbeing events aim to be accessible and nourishing for any open-minded human, regardless of world view, tradition, or belief.

This constitution defines the mission, vision, values, and guidelines for action for the church of interbeing project in Berlin.

Mission

To create spaces and experiences of sacredness, reconnection, and community that cultivate wisdom, love, and wellbeing, and empower care for the world.

Vision

Our vision is for every human to have the opportunity to gather regularly in remembrance of our connection to all the parts of ourselves, to each other, and to all of life. Being in sacred space together is part of our human heritage. Through small and courageous experiments, we aim to re-open the doorway to collective remembering of our capacity for ceremony, celebration, and service, honouring both our individuality and our commonality as fellow humans and parts of planetary life.

We envision the church of interbeing project in Berlin as an example of deep, regenerative community ritual — one that empowers participants to know themselves, connect with each other, and be a force of flourishing in this city and beyond.

We envision a project in which everyone who contributes to it is learning and growing, supported in their challenges and breakthroughs. May each of us be inspired and nourished even as we are inspiring and nourishing others.

We envision tears, laughter, joy, awe, reverence, insight, love, and forms of connection that can transform the world.

Values

These values underlie the work of the project, in both its internal and external expressions.

Responsible care

We aim for meaningful and compassionate interactions with each other, in the spaces we create, and in the wider world. We actively maintain boundaries and integrity in ourselves and the sacred spaces we create.

Mindful learning

We improve the process by paying attention and being curious

Knowing that we don't know, we create experiments and learn from the results. We approach conflict, tension, or unexpected results as information-bearing gifts to be explored with curiosity. We welcome constructive feedback, noting and sharing what we learn, and becoming wiser as we go.
